It continued working after reassembly and testing. The shutter itself seemed fine, so something that needed to time in the system wasn’t working right….So,... Nikon D3100 Error Press Shutter Release Button Again
I was quite concerned when my camera had this error while my family was at the fair.
Took off the bottom plate, exercised the red wheel and found dirt in All these are related and function in conjunction with the shutter.It can be of a couple types. The drop has caused a slight displacement of the mirror, so it kind of "jammed", and thus the shutter trigger controlling the mirror is not functioning. Or can't be fixed anymore?

My uncle's D40x also had the same issue, but went away after he pulled the battery out and waited for a good 6 months for the internal circuits to discharge completely. You are the best! I took about 1000 pics these last few days. Nikon D3300 Shutter Error I put the bottom cover back on and have taken 30-40 pictures since then and it seems to work great again!
So I tried it again and sure enough it fails in cold weather.
