I found my answer in under a minute. I even downloaded the current firmware and still no luck. Further, as recommended, i had also turnoff my cam and w/drawn its sdcard and battery for an hour but for naught. check over here I formatted the card, so there are no images on it.

However I did reach the box that holds the plastic wheels the motor moves and unscrewed it to try to release the motor.

I did everything, changed sd cards, lenses, charged the battery, let it sit, and now cleaned all the contacts like you say. If you just have one unvarying color or surface, the AF struggles and fails to work. Third, the Nikon camera may have experienced a start-up error.
when half pressed the Err appears but when the shutter completes, the picture did not register w/ my sdcard. You don't have to worry, your camera is not permanently broken, and will shoot as it used to without any problem. Laden...
