Nikon D90 F Error
Switched the camera to manual focus, clicked the shutter and camera is working fine. It made a weird sound, but after that it was good to go again! If I choose, say f4 at x shutter speed, the exposure is DEAD on accurate with all of the lenses; including the one that throws the "ERR" error.When I press the Took a shot, it captures my monitor and this page, then it went back to error.

It just saved me from sending away my D3s on service. Nikon D80 Error Message I set camera to normal mode (not B/W), I even put a fresh charged battery in, and I have a disk in that I know is formatted and works fine. one may be missing or retracted.
You are going to have to take your camera and lens into a camera repair shop and have them look at it.
- This took a while to discover the problem and solution.The problem and solution was the Metering selection.

- It does not appear to be a lens issue to me as I tried 3 different lenses..
- I suspect either the contacts between the lens, the aperture leaver on the mount or the aperture blades on the lens (Sigma 70-200).

Lock the aperture at the smallest aperture setting. Why can't I get my f/2.8 lens to open all of the way to 2.8 ? What term would I search on to find this topic without spending an hour reviewing old posts??(I don't have my after-market book with me, so I can't tell you who wrote. i probably wouldnt do that on a nikon lens, just in case i might want to resell it, but i had the same problem on my 50/1.8 until i figured out They replaced the lens and I have never had the problem again. I had to turn off and camera and on each time to get rid of the Err although I could continue to shoot ignoring the Err message.I tried cleaning the contacts So far it's ok, but it's so off and on I don't know when it could mess up again. I don't think that it's an aperture blade issue; they look fine. Thanks, dude.

That happens to be the SAME f-stop where the 28-105mm begins throwing the "ERR" message.Hmmm……..coincidence? Pls help. Make sure if the lens is a CPU lens, that it is completely connected onto the cameras bayonet lens mount.
