Honestly, thats why I figured more cameras were using SD cards now instead of CF. Please note that the default disk format used in Windows XP is FAT32 and if a card is formatted with this setting on an XP system the D1 will report CHA. I don't know what causes the problem, although I am a firm believer in paying the absolute minimum for CF cards. Once complete the Dark Frame and the original are summed together so that the noise is cancelled. If it does, then it could be a problem with your camera…Either way, try another card to make sure. There is quite a bit of confusion on some of the threads mentioned above. Deleting images without formatting the memory card is a bad idea and many DSLR cameras will eventually have problems writing to those cards.
