Nikon D80 Full Error
my model is D80. I'm not sure if it's possible, but you may have formatted the card in HFS+, which would make the card impossible to read on the D700. Solution Lock ring at minimum aperture (highest f/-number). • Attach lens (IX Nikkor excluded). • Select mode M. For testing, I had changed it to color matrix, and with that change, the problems started. - Didnt work for me initially, so I suspect that it may have something to do with the cold, as I had some problem in -25C before, where the mirror didnt return
- On a non CPU lens it can mean the maximum aperture has not been dialled in correctly.
- taking battery out etc.

Needed to use it for a wedding photo booth. Never had any problems with my Pentax MF lenses or any of my LF lenses.Interestingly, once it fails with the "ERR" after moving to f8 or smaller aperture, if I go I've seen d50s where the card reading mechanism fails which gives a similar error.
