My problem was I took my Nikon D200 out of its case after not using it for several years. Probeer het later opnieuw. wouldn't auto focus, hear the shutter but no image saved. Only a rotating-sliding three contacts switch in the gears and an optical movement detection system with a wheel like those used in the old ball-mouses.
The lens can't cost more than $200-250 on Ebay.

I have gotten a FOR message on my lcd screen when i put in a sd memory card in the slot… it only blinks green and then stops and shows the Nikon D80 Err R04 I had three Nikon cameras prior to the digital age and they were much More reliant. I used it last week.
Now after a couple of months the same error appears and the service center is suggesting that the Shutter unit has to be replaced.

any Ideas. Response to Nikon D80 error message and shuter problemIf you are repeatedly getting a blinking "ERR" warning on the LCD, and this occurs with multiple lenses, then your D80 probably needs If I push release and try to take a photo again, this time it will take it, but after another 3 photos or so, the same problem occurs. Will it keep functioning where it only errors every third shot or so, or is this going to get a lot worse quickly?
After reading your post it occurred to me that the last photo I took the battery died.
