Before I depress the shutter release the camera shows I have 296 images remaining on the memory card. It wont release the flash. It does not appear to be a lens issue to me as I tried 3 different lenses.. Nikon D80 Aperture Control Unit

- The only way I can take pictures with the lens is when it isn't fully connected.

I was panicking a bit since we are leaving for a vacation next week and I am planning to spend much of it using a camera! Sometimes it turns out to be the shutter, or the mirror, or the lens/communication, or the memory card, or probably half a dozen other things. Nikon D7100 Error Codes All I might suggest is that you might try cleaning the contacts with cleaner that is specifically intended for electronic components rather than the alcohol you have tried already. That happens to be the SAME f-stop where the 28-105mm begins throwing the "ERR" message.Hmmm……..coincidence? Tried everything recommended including a thorough cleaning of contacts (I was hoping that would work!) ...

Usual causes are that either the lens is an older model without electronic contacts (i.e. BUT………the overexposure was only happening at f8 or smaller f-stops! Not sure if i still have the chord to connect it anymore. It's a D7200.Vanessa LenzlingerI can take pictures using the Lv Screen but if I try to take the picture looking directly into the camera I get a FULL message (memory card I used it last week. This has occurred with several lenses. tried putting 35mm 1.8g lens but same error.. I thought the problem might be my 50mm/1.8 D as it started with this lens and also I did not see the problem with my 18-200 VRII on it. I have not used my D90 camera much since I got it (had 2 kids, work full time etc) and I keep it in my case and baby it.
