  • f EE If you only use G type lenses you'll never see this error message as it indicates the aperture ring is not set to the minimum aperture.
  • Turned it back on and the message was gone but it still won't focus.

Nikon D80 Aperture Control Unit

I had a 55-300mm lens which I had not used for a long time..Today afternoon, I thought I would just click a few shots with it. Didn't know it have to do with contacts. Nikon D80 Err Shutter Stuck It does occur in all the other modes I have tried. Nikon Err Message I've owned dozens of lenses over my photography life and this is the third lens that's failed on me: two Canons(one an L lens) and now this Nikkor.

I somehow managed to work for 10 Pictures but then the same happened again.

Switched the camera to manual focus, clicked the shutter and camera is working fine. Didnt work for me initially, so I suspect that it may have something to do with the cold, as I had some problem in -25C before, where the mirror didnt return I talked with Nikon took the camera to a local Nikon service center (found that it was at about half an hr drive!). Nikon D80 Err R04 I have a D70 as well but never experienced any problems.
