Nikon D70 Cha Error
Did you call customer service? If the problem occurs with a single card, then it probably relates to that card. Good reader. Something is causing it and I know that there has to be someone out there that had the problem, sent the camera off to be fixed and it was fixed. weblink
Will try the cleaning and hope it does the trick. The floods in Colorado ruined a number of weddings. Buy a SD card, throw it in, and you get a CHA/CHG error. It is safe to say that the camera needs to be repaired, but has anyone sent their D70 or D70S off with this problem and it was actually fixed? http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=79691

Only attempt this if you are comfortable with working on fragile parts, have a lot of patience and the right tools. Common culprits and associated fixes are included. I guess I will have to break down and buy a new reader module but at least I know that installing it is a snap. I'm using a D70s with a couple of SanDisk Ultra II CF cards in 1 GB and 512MB versions.
I saw some water damage I had never known about on the latter, as well, which was enlightening. I could not find a way to order online. Turning the camera OFF/ON usually makes things right.

- Anyway, I don't think I have to explain this problem any further because I've been researching it for a while and everyone seems to have heard of it.
- Reinsert the card into your camera, and reformat again.
- I turned the camera off and then turned it back on and everything was relatively cool.

The card reader blew both Lexar and SanDisk cards.
I saved the images with Rescue Pro, reformated the cards in the camera and Belkin replaced the reader and everything seems back to normal. so in effect is a push / pull motion going on in the CF slot, and the pins are moving ever so slightly in and out.
