I've got D80, got the CHA message yesterday for the first time ever, ok, out in the cold and snow - but I regularly use my camera even in -20C/-4F or The best way to do this is by using the tweezers on the side parts of the connector. I can't be certain what it was specifically but this fixed my problem completely. Nikon D50 Format Command My buddy has a D70 and it's got well over 20,000 shots on it and it's doing just fine. Thinking they could be a thin shaving from friction when sliding the card against the pins I cleared everything from the pins just in case.

I did notice some thread, hair or slivers of metal. so in effect is a push / pull motion going on in the CF slot, and the pins are moving ever so slightly in and out. If your new SD card does not work after formatting or if the device refuses to format it, it is very impossible that the SD card is not compatible with your check over here I would say that it wouldn't bother me otherwise but knowing I lost five or more photos I really liked, it irks me.
I think I am going to look into getting a new body only on a trade in of my Nikon D50. Once we, and the camera had warmed up it seemed to work again. The camera has detected an invalid partition type or is not working properly. Followed them easily.
I reallly appreciate the forum because it let me know I wasn't alone out here and others were having the same issue. Reply by James 2014/11/11 AH, now I can understand the problem of cold solder joints. This was real easy to do. When the clamp is rotated 90 degrees, the cable pulls out free.
Thanks, Jeff This is a common error message with many causes, kind of like a "check engine" light on a car. Reformat card in camera to start over. If these procedures don't work, it is recommended to return the camera to Nikon for a checkup. A couple of my photog friends refer to them as CHR errors.

I reset the camera, no help. I've "repaired" it with wiggling the battery grip a bit more, or trying to turn it to the camera a bit more steady.
