Lens Error Nikon Coolpix

Sorry to say that only about half of the lens errors can be corrected by these methods. Sometimes the lens is just stuck, sometimes it needs to be replaced. Sometimes the lens won't even move. Reassembled, and voila!

Number 4 half worked for me, it would allow it to come on and take photos, but it would still make horrible clanky noises and it can't focus... i was so afraid of telling me mom, and i had planned to spend like 80 dollars getting it repaired. Yes I tried some light machine oil on my Coolpix L6, it didn't help. Other variations include hitting a side of the camera against the palm of your hand. After trying the other suggestions on my Canon Powershot A570 IS I tried #7 by grabbing the lens during power on and not allowing it to retract. After replacing the battery and powering the camera back on it seems to work fine.

There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some dist Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended.
