Nikon Coolpix 5700 Lens Error


Every few times, the lens will not close and I will have to force it in again. this isnt what i wanted to hear...mine came up with the dreaded lens error msge today for the first time... Also was stopping when I heard a faint click. I will try to get it fixed as Its still under warranty for the next 4 years and 4 months but I like many others here will never buy Nikon again They're relatively easy to reseat. so if you're out of warranty and nikon are in denial, drop it :D worked for me!! I suspect a ribbon cable became dislodged or slightly disconnected from its connector. I'm going to try Canon!!!

Truly invaluable advice! Nikon have choosen to repair the camera FREE of CHARGE. NOw it has failed and doesn't seem to want to revive. I also included a strongly worded letter stating my views about the design and reliability of Nikon products. In desperation, I gently twisted the smaller lens barrel clockwise (looking at the lens front on) just after switching on the camera and hey presto, the lens motor whirred into life!I Can you please suggest which camera would be a good choice.
