Network Error Fd During Backup

Thank you very much! Driver="Win64 VSS", Drive(s)="F" 2012-09-24 23:55:21 buhasrv1-fd JobId 4017: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "Task Scheduler Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 2012-09-24 23:55:21 buhasrv1-fd JobId 4017: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "VSS Metadata Store Writer", State: 0x1 Look at adding heartbeat to your configuration. Regarding your question which daemon is causing the trouble, is there really no output which daemon get the error. Check This Out

If the heartbeat setting is on then the storage daemon will send heartbeats back to the client in order to keep the connection alive while it waits. If you have the heartbeat settings in place as you do then you should see heartbeat packets sent from the client back to the director in order to keep that connection Each try of a full backup aborts after an > > amount of time. Perhaps there truly is a problem with a NIC in this hypervisor, or cable, switch, etc.

That "idle" occurs shortly afther job start. My job cancels exactly 15 min after entering the wait mode for a new tape. Again, it would be good to know if the heartbeat should be active during waiting for a tape.

The client, director and storage daemon are running on the same > computer. Can anyone help out? I suspect there is a firewall or gateway that is dropping the connection. I had no need to sniff them.

As one side of the backup is a VMware server I had a closer look to the configuration of this environment. internet Maybe the place to start is to move the failing VM to the other hypervisor and see if it still fails.

  4. In addition, you may see heartbeat packets send from the storage daemon to the client.

  9. Splunk takes this data and makes sense of it.
  10. If so, set the debug level to 400 and you should get some messages in the output if the heartbeat logic is working.

If you see it then it is sending it so the problem lies elsewhere if you're still not seeing it arriving at it's destination. It is when the file deamon is searching / collecting the files that the bacula-dir requested.

My job still cancels. I have three jobs per server and it is not always the same job, but always the same server. That time frame is your clue.

But since the shutdown the network is reset after exactly 15 minutes and the job stops with a broken pipe error.

What I have done: - Use a newer FD version - Just one concurrent job per server ("Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 1" on all FDs) - Set "Heartbeat Interval = 60" In 7 hours I will see the result. Why? So, there should be no activity when no job is running.

Is it active when no job is running? In the first 3 month everything worked fine but after the summer shut down I saw the broken pipe error. However, can someone tell me, where the problem has its origin. navigate here If the heartbeat setting is on then the storage daemon will send heartbeats back to the client in order to keep the connection alive while it waits.
