You could create a file /etc/rc.tcpip and add the command in it and place /etc/rc.tcpip in you /etc/inittab which is read at boot time. navigate here

if NFS server and client can see each other, you can restart the NFS service in the NFS server to see if it can help. I am fairly new to AIX but am an experienced HP-UX and Solaris person. The problem is, when I try to mount the share on an AIX system, I get an error. Regards, Alan.

  • Maybe you should log a support call to your Linux vendor and Oracle.
  • Or try this workaround: mount -o vers=2 -o proto=udp IPaddress:/test /mnt There is also an APAR (IY30001) available for 4.3 that is for this problem but I think is for lpp_source
  • Nfs is used and we have pulled stats from the db server to show that NFS errors are happening but also shows UDP errors happing as well: 319789.txt ‏2 KB 0
  • The mounts are connectiong to a Windows 2003 file cluster and we see zero errors on the Windows servers.

  • plus "netstat -I bge0"only shows a very small amount of errors.

Subsystem PID is 10322.0513-059 The rpc.lockd Subsystem has been started. My two-cent comment is you said you are using a linux box to export the file systems. You would think you would see the timeouts on the response if it was the NFS server with the problem.

On those it usually meant lockd failed on the clients, if not totally absent (not running), it was running but was stuck in a loop, accumilating a lot of cpu time.

The NFS client was issuing NFS calls (getattr and read) and timed out. However, no one with root access was logged on at the time, nothing was going on in root's cron at the time, no patching was going on, and no hardware was Which I think is the only solution. We are running HPUX 11.23 with CIFS client vs A02.02.02.

All systems use nfs root partition exported by two linux servers. If the server were merely down or slow to respond, the NFS server not responding message would appear instead. Check it. SunOS 5.10 Generic January 2005 -bash-3.00$ I tried to login directly on the NIS server, but cannot login....looks like the system is now stopped responding.

Restarted the NFS daemons on server: wxyz 2. NFS mount: /string mounted OK CauseWhile booting, the system failed to mount the directory specified after the first colon, probably because the NFS server involved was down or slow to respond. Unfortunately I cannot reboot the servers at the moment.
