There are 2 ways of fixing the problem, replacing the part with the same plastic-riveted switch contact or taking the Aperture Control Unit apart and replacing the plastic rivet with a aperture? I've not had a problem with my D90 until I got my D700 and my new lens. I set camera to normal mode (not B/W), I even put a fresh charged battery in, and I have a disk in that I know is formatted and works fine.
