When I put it on the camera the display shows 'fEE', which is supposed to be "Lens aperture ring is not set to minimum aperture" (which, it is). In the case of the 85mm f/1.8, this is f/16. Now with a free lens cloth! 1h998-164 Hope that helps with some more diagnostics...

- Check that the lens' aperture ring hasn't suffered any damage.

So neither the lens or the camera are at fault on their own, just when put together.
