- Lens Error message What is the difference between an AI lens, an AI-S lens, and Non-AI lens?
- The lens needs to be set on the smallest aperture, typically f/22 on the ring since the camera controls the aperture.

I don't have the manual for this lens but am just wondering if anyone knows what the issue is here. If anybody did the same letting battery in camera for couple of months and got same issue, please update me the resolution ,,….. It's something else; perhaps the contact/s or the contact strip is damaged internally?I suppose the next question is whether or not this merits fixing. The problem does not appear to occur in the P mode. I have not used my D90 camera much since I got it (had 2 kids, work full time etc) and I keep it in my case and baby it. You may also be getting a 'false low battery' warning. this content f EE If you only use G type lenses you'll never see this error message as it indicates the aperture ring is not set to the minimum aperture.

But it can also be more serious, so it's always best to speak to Nikon if you are concerned. In reply to jagco • Mar 5, 2010 I'm thinking the F--- code is due to the seating of the lens on the camera. If it is a CPU lens then remove the lens and re-attach, making sure you fully twist the lens until you hear it click in place. i superglued it and that fixed the problem.

How long have you your lens/camera? I did it. After using it for a day , my camera wont actually shot (mirror just locked itself up) and say ‘Err' on the top screen. I cleaned off the contact points and done every other thing that sites have said but still can't get it to work.
