Nikon D70 Error Message Err
I had given up on my D70 thinking it wasn't worth sending it for repair until I nudged the shutter as suggested here. Page 6 in manual shows all these. Can't thank you enough! It was designed for Nikon D200, but the chip was faulty from the start, so it just worked on D70(s) and similar models. weblink

The alcohol did take off a very small amount of reside/dust/whatever and the contacts all look shiny clean now, so I would be surprised if that's the issue. This took a while to discover the problem and solution.The problem and solution was the Metering selection. I hope it does though. i had couple coming up to me for photos and my camera was no longer on the job. check over here returned to Nikon ..

A few months after, it was the shutter dial that gave up on me. I moved my shutter curtain down and now my camera works again. By pressing the button a second time it would cycle twice but never capture any pictures. Shut it off and put the kit lens on. What I meant was the occurrence that I encounter the err problem is in infrequent. The lens can't cost more than $200-250 on Ebay.
And if needed, supply them with the other kit that was used when the fault developed. I can see the shutter move but does not expose the sensor. Now after a couple of months the same error appears and the service center is suggesting that the Shutter unit has to be replaced. Ha!

Loading... If I screw it up, it has to go to the shop anywhay. no indication that there is a problem with the mechanics of the shutter or mirror. I don't know if auto-focus is the issue either!
