It Turns out the aperture control lever was slightly bent. After reading your post it occurred to me that the last photo I took the battery died. i tried your advises (cleaned cpu/lens contacts, change lens, replaced sdcard and battery) but for naught. I format it, and then it says the card is corrupt - but it's really not and the card is totally empty. The switch works to inform the microprocessor the position of the gear, while the gear actually drives/charges the mirror and shutter. have a peek at these guys I have two 50mm f1.8 lenses. I like to bring forward to your notice, I kept battery in my camera for 8 months and forgot to remove it. Oh ya, I can take pics but this image (which flashes red as I press the shutter) makes it hard to see the image thru viewfinder. Now however, when I rotate the aperture ring on the lens, the LCD seems to flicker between f22 and f32. Reply 14) Marco March 21, 2012 at 3:04 amMy "Err" message started to show on a D3s after the camera has been at Nikon for cleaning etc. That happens to be the SAME f-stop where the 28-105mm begins throwing the "ERR" message.Hmmm……..coincidence? Switching the camera off and on again, seemed to fix it, but only temporarily. I also experience the situation where none of my buttons on the back of my camera (D7100), I can "activate" LiveView, and am still able to fire the shutter.
The clue to all these is to simply look at all the features and specs of their new D610. What I meant was the occurrence that I encounter the err problem is in infrequent. Having read all the postings on the Internet it is obvious that Nikon haven't a clue how to resolve this problem. So thinking it was the camera body I tried a 24-70mm 2.8 AF on my Nikon D800 and that works fine too, every time.
