Since reading your post I checked a number of other sources, and one basic answer evades me. If you have the lens mounted, make sure that the lens is properly attached and locked.
- It's only about 1-1/2 inches long and really thin in the center where it broke.

- Hasnt come back since cleaning.
- We tried everything to make it work but nothing did so it was sent off for repair.

- Since the lens works fine on your D90 I suspect that there is a problem with the D7000 and I suggest sending it in to Nikon service with a detailed description
Thanks for the help! If you could offer any advice I would be really grateful. On a non CPU lens it can mean the maximum aperture has not been dialled in correctly. 1h998-164 I read on a forum recently about a pro sports tog who had a D3 and a 400mm which gave an ERR code when combined together.

Nikon D90 Error Codes With modern G lenses you will get F0 appear until the lens is clicked in to position. It used to work perfectly as in - when I would rotate the aperture ring, it would change in accordance on the LCD.
