Nikon D100 Error Message Fee
Couldn't see anything from viewfinder and from LCD display. As with the -E- message, worst case scenario is that there is a bent pin in the cameras card slot. I also have a d90 body- and the lens works fine on that, as-is. After some hundreds of photos, I detached the 18-105 lens and I felt on the Err case. Appalling moment in my career, resorted to backup body. Nothing LOOKS wrong in the camera lens mount area. That's what I get for not looking at the date! If anybody did the same letting battery in camera for couple of months and got same issue, please update me the resolution ,,….. Setting it on the colored aperture before locking was the key.
Thanks for the info. The f-stop does not seem to matter. I moved it back and forth several times, to no avail. 1h998-164 Took a shot, it captures my monitor and this page, then it went back to error.

- CHA/CHR This means there is a problem with the memory card.
- I have the camera set to take single shots not continueous, so I wouldn't be able to take a "burst" of shots, Just one shot everytime I depress the shutter release
- I even get the message when there is no lens attached.

Check that the lens' aperture ring hasn't suffered any damage.The lens looks fine as well. I freaked sending my D700 in for repair, spending 300 bucks, just to get it back not fixed.

Reply 27) JR February 14, 2013 at 11:36 amI've just mounted my old, but trusty, 28-105mm f3.5-4.5D on my D600 and I get the dreaded "ERR" but only when I shoot I did it. Maybe it was a combination of all the above, so wanted to say thanks. Will keep you posted how this works for us!
Note that this combination has worked before. If you have something you think we should see, post it here and we'll have a look.
