Nikon Aperture Locking Switch

I took the camera in for repair. Neither helped.I did verify that, at least at one point, this lens worked on the camera. Nikon D80 Error Message

I did rent a D600 for a recent trip, and the same problem occurred with my new Nikon 70-200mm f4 lens.I am shipping my camera back to Nikon for repairs or Nikon D90 Error Codes big tnx. Regarding using the aperture ring to set aperture, have you set option f9 in the menus to allow the aperture to be read from the aperture ring rather than the sub-command

Though my D7000 and 50mm Nikon lens had worked before, they stopped working together. Turn off your camera. Will let you know what happens. Nikon D7100 Error Codes This only matters if the Aperture ring is set to anything other than the smallest aperture correct?

The switch works to inform the microprocessor the position of the gear, while the gear actually drives/charges the mirror and shutter. FEE is supposed to mean "the camera expects the aperture ring to be set to minimum, but it isn't", so something in that mechanism would be where I'd check.
